    Principal's Message

    Dear JB Parents & Carers

It has been a very special week for our JB students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this week. We welcome Archbishop Anthony Fisher and Bishop Terry Brady to our Parish to share in this special celebration. Thank you to each family who has supported the program and enriched the lives of your children with our shared faith.

    REFLECTION - GOSPEL

Our God has given us very many gifts in this life. That is the point - often, we come to see these gifts as our right- and for those who don’t have our good fortune, well too bad for them……….So the story of Lazarus and the rich man, whom we call “Dives”. We are called to reflect on how we share the gifts our God has given to us. If we say “These gifts are mine - I worked for them. I deserve them, and I intend to use them just for myself”  perhaps our God will say - “Have you read the story of Lazarus and Dives?” Worth reading you know.

    I THANK GOD

For the teenager who is not doing the dishes but watching TV, because that means he or she is at home and not on the streets. For the taxes I pay, because it means I am employed. For the clothes that fit too snug, because it means I have enough to eat. For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am in the sunshine. For the lawns that need mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing, because it means that I have a home. For the parking spot I find at the end of the car park, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.

    TERM 4 UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS

The correct wearing of school uniform is a demonstration of pride in an individual and their school. It has been noticeable as we have progressed through the term that many students have been wearing incorrect school uniform - socks are of a particular concern, as well as tracksuit pants and hats.

As we move into Term 4, students will wear FULL SUMMER UNIFORM. This can begin from Week 1.

A reminder that anklet socks that cannot be seen above the shoe line are not permitted. White school sport socks must be worn as part of the summer sports uniform.

Correct socks for boys (JB socks with the red and white stripe) and girls (white socks purchased from Lowes) are the only socks permitted to be worn as part of the summer uniform.

Each child must have a hat to wear to school each day. Boys will also be reminded to have their shirts tucked in on school uniform days. Please ensure that your child is wearing their full school uniform correctly and with pride as they enter the school each day.

Notes will be sent home to families of students who wear incorrect uniform from the beginning of Term 4. Let's all work together to demonstrate pride and respect for our school - thank you for your support in advance.

    FAREWELL

This week we farewell Miss Milena Klickovic who will be moving on from JB and 2 Ruby in particular. Miss Klickovic has been a valued member of the JB staff for many years and enriched the lives of so many students and their families. We thank Miss Klickovic for her years of dedication and wish her every success as she endevours on new projects.

Wishing each and every one of our families a restful and peaceful holiday break. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Term 4!

    Mr Brendan O'Connor  Principal

    Assistant Principal News

    Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of term, it is timely for us to stop and reflect on what a wonderful term it has been. Term 3 has seen fantastic student growth and learning in all areas, celebration of NAPLAN results for Year 3 & 5, fun times on excursions for many grades, Science Incursions for all grades, CPR Training for Year 6, Open Classrooms, Book Week Parades, Father’s Day BBQ, Grade and Class Masses, Confirmation Masses and so much more. The students are to be congratulated on their efforts and love of learning - it is evident every single day.

Term 4 will begin on Monday 10th October. I hope you all have a wonderful break as a family, and enjoy quality time together.

    Assembly - K-2 Friday 14th October

We will have a K-2 Assembly in the church from 2pm. Parents are welcome to attend. Any students due to receive a badge will be notified via email.

    Thought for the week:

Spring- a time for new beginnings- and haven’t we all had a few of those lately!!

The Spring holidays are upon us- a time of renewal after a long winter. Try some spring cleaning for your spirit  also! Throw away any negative thoughts or anything that does not serve you a joyful purpose-(or even clean out a cupboard and enjoy the feeling of being able to donate something that will bring joy to someone else).  I  recently moved house after almost 35 years. A LOT of physical  decluttering happened  there and BIG CHANGE after a long time. Embrace the new opportunities this presents. Encourage the children to sort through any unwanted toys or belongings-we know that Christmas is coming and many will likely be replaced. Clear some room in your LIFE for  GOD too!

Don’t forget to check out local council holiday activities and if travelling- be safe. We look forward to a busy and exciting Term 4.

    Notes from The Office

    CHANGE OF DETAILS

As part of your child’s ongoing enrolment, it is important to update any changes to your family details as soon as they occur.  This is particularly vital for mobile phone numbers, emergency contact phone numbers, email addresses, residential addresses and occupation details.  If you or your emergency contact have updated any of these details throughout the year, please complete the necessary changes via the Change of Personal Details Form, link here: https://forms.gle/sPnhJpvib8Etg8qX8

A gentle reminder, should any of these details change throughout the year, for your convenience this form is available via your Compass portal under School Favourites.

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring the school has the most accurate information for your family.

    LEAVING STUDENTS

As we are approaching our final term, we request any family that may be leaving JB at the end of the school year, to kindly advise the office at the earliest.  A Cessation of Enrolment form will be required to be completed and returned to the office by Week 4 next term, if possible. Please call or email to inform the office on info@jbbonnyrigg.catholic.edu.au if your family is in this position.

    SICK CHILDREN

We ask for your ongoing assistance to please keep child/ren home if they are showing any signs of illness. It is also important to remind your child/ren to practice good hygiene habits, particularly while at school.

Thank you for your understanding & support in this matter.

    CLOTHING POOL

Our office gratefully accepts donations of second hand school uniform items for our clothing pool.  It would be appreciated if these donations are of good quality only.  Please note, we cannot accept donations of socks or stockings. It would also be of great assistance if prior to donation, to please ensure names are removed from the clothing items.

We thank all our families for their generous donations.

    2022 SCHOOL FEES

    Dear Parents,

As you are aware, your 2022 School Fee Statements have been emailed to you. It would be appreciated if your payments are made by the scheduled dates as listed on your statement.

Payments can be made by BPAY, Compass Parent Portal, Cash, Eftpos or Centrepay.

Please contact the office if you did not receive your statement, or have any queries in relation to your fees.

    Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.

    2023 SIBLING RANK

As part of your child/ren’s ongoing enrolment, it is important the school maintains accurate records of ALL children within a family who enrolled in a Sydney Archdiocese Catholic Primary or High School.

Please complete this form via this link Student Sibling Rank Form to determine the correct School Fees (Sibling Discount) and Building Levy for your child/ren in 2023.  If you have not completed this form, we ask this to be submitted immediately to ensure accurate billing for your family in 2023. If you would prefer to complete this via a paper form, please contact the office and we will be happy to send it home with your eldest child.

Should you have any queries in relation to any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 9823 5042 or email info@jbbonnyrigg.catholic.edu.au for assistance.
